About Burnthwaite Farm

Burnthwaite Farm is a working farm with both cattle and sheep. Situated at the head of the Wasdale Valley, the farm covers part of the flat valley floor and a large area of upland fells.

The sheep are traditional Lakeland Herdwicks

Burnthwaite has been a farm since the 1600's and taking guests since the 1700's as people travelled east on the pack horse route over Styhead Pass.

You'll be given a warm welcome at Burnthwaite, a hearty breakfast to set you up for the day ahead and packed lunches are available to order.
